Sabemos que las mascotas y las personas están mejor juntas, por eso hemos creado el premio Better With Pets (BWPP).
Ganadores Better With Pets - 2025
El BetterWithPets Prize (BWPP) 2025 reconoce el trabajo de organizaciones y emprendedores sociales que contribuyen a mejorar la salud y el bienestar de personas en situación de vulnerabilidad gracias al poder el vínculo entre las personas y las mascotas.
Los ganadores de esta edición apoyan a personas mayores que viven en situación de aislamiento social a través de visitas terapéuticas con perros, desarrollan intervenciones asistidas con animales para comunidades afectadas por la guerra y entrenan perros de asistencia para niños con diabetes.
Seleccionados entre cerca de 150 candidaturas, los ganadores del BWPP 2025 recibirán una subvención de 200.000 euros durante dos años para ayudarles a ampliar sualcance e impacto social. Además, contaán con formación y mentoría personalizadas y pasarán a formar parte de la comunidad del BetterWithPets Prize de Purina.

El BWPP 2023 tiene como objetivo financiar organizaciones impactantes que se esfuerzan por cambiar la sociedad de una manera positiva a través del vínculo humano-animal.
Primer Premio - Pets As Therapy

Pets As Therapy es una organización benéfica que busca mejorar la salud y el bienestar de miles de personas en comunidades de todo Reino Unido, ofreciendo visitas terapéuticas a establecimientos como residencias, hospitales, hospicios, escuelas y prisiones. Más de 400.000 personas se benefician de las visitas PAT cada año. Pets As Therapy es el ganador de esta edición del Premio Better With Pets y ha estado galardonada con una beca de 2 años de 50.000 € por año.
Sabemos que las visitas PAT no pueden arreglar el mundo, pero todos los días nuestros voluntarios y sus mascotas marcan una diferencia en la vida de las personas. Desde permitir que alguien perdido en la niebla de la demencia hable o ser un catalizador para que alguien se exprese cuando no ha podido decir lo que está mal. Nuestro impacto es inmediato, está en el aquí y ahora. Si ‘Las mascotas como terapia’ fuera un diamante sin pulir, ganar el premio BetterwithPets lo ayudará a brillar al ampliar nuestro alcance y ayudarnos a refinar nuestra capacitación y apoyo, permitiéndonos abordar nuestra creciente lista de espera y proporcionar más equipos PAT a los lugares necesarios.

Segundo Premio - Centre de Teràpies Assistides amb Cans (CTAC)

CTAC es nuestro segundo ganador del premio y ha sido galardonado con una beca de 2 años de 30.000 € por año. Desde el año 2000, el método CTAC se ha aplicado con éxito a las intervenciones asistidas por animales para brindar los beneficios de las relaciones entre humanos y animales a personas con todo tipo de condiciones y vulnerabilidades. Esto incluye ayudar a las personas durante la hospitalización, en el desarrollo en casos de diversidad funcional y en situaciones socialmente comprometidas.
Ganar este premio es un importante reconocimiento al esfuerzo de nuestro equipo, que se ha dedicado a ayudar a las personas a través de los beneficios del vínculo humano-animal. Esto nos permitirá expandir nuestro alcance y ayudar a más personas.

Tercer Premio - Street Vet
Street Vet ofrece atención y servicios veterinarios básicos gratuiros a personas sin hogar. El equipo de veterinarios y enfermeros de Street Vet ha brindado atención esencial a más de 2000 personas y sus mascotas en todo Reino Unido, brindando así un apoyo necesario que garantice su bienestar conjunto. Street Vet es nuestro tercer ganador del Premio en 2023 y será galardonado con una beca de 2 años de 20.000 € por año. Esta no es la primera vez que han estado premiados por su fantástica labor de beneficiar positivamente la sociedad a través del poder del vínculo humano-animal, dado que también fueron nuestros ganadores del BWPP en 2020.

En 2020, el premio tuvo un enfoque diferente y financiaba proyectos en lugar de organizaciones.
Categoría de Proyecto Innovador Implementado: Ganador

StreetVet Accredited Hostel Scheme fue nuestro ganador de la categoría de Proyecto Innovador Implementado y recibió 50.000 francos suizos para apoyar y acelerar su iniciativa. StreetVet se enfoca en brindar atención veterinaria gratuita y accesible a las mascotas cuyos dueños se encuentran sin hogar en las calles o en los albergues y ha presentado una nueva forma creativa en la que podemos aprovechar el poder positivo e impactante del vínculo humano-animal dentro de la sociedad.
Todo lo relacionado con StreetVet para mí ha sido un viaje loco, desde la idea, simplemente ponerme la mochila y salir, hasta que se ha convertido en lo que hago ahora todos los días. Todo es gracias a nuestros voluntarios, que son increíbles, y a la fuerza del vínculo humano-animal, porque es por eso que todos lo estamos haciendo. La mejor parte de este proceso y StreetVet han sido las personas que hemos conocido en el camino, ya sean dueños con sus perros o personas que han querido marcar la diferencia.

Categoría de Proyecto Innovador Implementado : Subcampeón

Gamelles Pleines ocupó el segundo lugar y recibió 20.000 francos suizos para escalar el impacto de su iniciativa. Gamelles Pleines trabaja en toda Francia para ayudar a los dueños de mascotas sin hogar a alimentar, cuidar y mantener a sus mascotas mientras aprovechan los beneficios de tener una mascota para una reintegración social exitosa.
Es más que ganar un premio, se trata de compartir una idea y un proyecto. Para mí, el tema más importante fue hacer visible lo invisible, para que la gente pueda ver a las personas sin hogar y a sus mascotas de manera diferente. Me siento muy feliz porque este objetivo se cumple porque tanto Gamelles Pleines como StreetVet, están actuando por la misma causa en dos países diferentes. Es una gran victoria para las personas sin hogar.

Ganadores Better With Pets – 2018

En 2018, la Fundación OOPOEH ganó el premio Better With Pets y recibió 40.000 francos suizos para apoyar y acelerar su iniciativa innovadora. La Fundación OOPOEH, con sede en los Países Bajos, tiene como objetivo reducir la soledad y aumentar la actividad física de las personas mayores al convertirlos en cuidadores de perros de una familia de su vecindario.
Nos sentimos honrados y emocionados de recibir este premio, esto nos permitirá incrementar el impacto social de nuestra iniciativa. Tuvimos un taller fantástico con Purina® y ahora buscamos continuar nuestro proyecto centrados en personas mayores vulnerables, siguiendo los consejos y la inspiración del Foro BetterwithPets.
